Daft Punk and Lego Announce 'Alive 2007' Set, Five Years After Band's Breakup

Lego and Daft Punk launched a joint collaboration on October 22, 2026, combining a buildable set, a short promotional film and a wider brand partnership described by the companies as spanning "product, content and brand experiences" across music and culture, according to a report by Yahoo Entertainment carrying Variety's coverage.

The centerpiece is a Lego set recreating the pyramid-shaped stage from Daft Punk's 2007 "Alive" tour. To unveil it, the two brands released a 48-second film showing Lego minifigure versions of the duo, wearing their signature helmets, chasing a holographic brick across a desert; the soundtrack blends instrumental passages from the 2001 album "Discovery" and the 2005 album "Human After All," per Yahoo Entertainment's report.

Daft Punk's creative director, Cédric Hervet, described the pyramid stage as one of the most recognisable expressions of the duo's visual world and said it was fitting for the fan-created design to become central to the partnership. Lego's chief product and marketing officer, Julia Goldin, said both brands share an ability to inspire through creativity, innovation and a connection with fans, according to Yahoo Entertainment's report.

From a lockdown project to an official product

The design began as a fan project. According to Consequence, builder Patrick Harboun and his son created the pyramid-stage model as a pandemic-era hobby and entered it into Lego's 2020 "Music to Our Ears!" competition, where it won second prize. Harboun later resubmitted the design to the Lego Ideas platform in 2024, where it gathered the 10,000 supporters needed for the project to be considered for production. Jay's Brick Blog reported that the submission then sat in Lego Ideas' review "parking lot" from October 2025 before being greenlit roughly a year later.

Neither the final piece count, retail price nor a release date has been disclosed. Lego has said only that further Daft Punk-related "events and content" are planned for 2027, according to Jay's Brick Blog.

Who Daft Punk are

Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who met as schoolboys in Paris, formed Daft Punk in 1993, according to Wikipedia. Their 1997 debut album "Homework" produced the singles "Da Funk" and "Around the World." Starting with 2001's "Discovery," the pair began performing exclusively in robot helmets and suits — Bangalter in silver, de Homem-Christo in gold — concealing their identities on stage.

Their 2013 album "Random Access Memories" won five Grammy Awards in 2014, including Album of the Year, while its single "Get Lucky" took Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, per Wikipedia. No reunion behind the announcement

Daft Punk disbanded on February 22, 2021, announcing the split through an eight-minute video titled "Epilogue," built from footage of their 2006 film and closing on the years "1993–2021," according to Wikipedia. Consequence's report on the Lego deal states the collaboration arrives more than five years after that breakup and notes that the duo has not reunited in the studio or on stage since then. The outlet adds that their legacy has instead continued through reissues, including a 2026 4K restoration of the 2006 film "Electroma" marking its 20th anniversary.
